Production 2

I was gonna scramble, scream, rage, and cry about trying to remember what was part of the last dev log so I don't repeat myself but then I realized I could check itch :D. Silly me. We made a whole new level! This time, it only took us a week and a bit to ideate the characters, products, write all the "dialogue" and create product sprites. I didn't finish doing all of the products yet so during playtesting we realized some of the answers were too obvious because we left out red herrings as we ran out of time. ANYWAYS, playtests have mostly gone exactly how we would expect them to so I think it would be safe to say having those extra products would spice it up a little bit the way we think it will.

ImageImageImageOH! and I also made profile pictures for the characters but they didn't make it into the playtest. Here are some of the other things I've made that we didn't impliment yet:

What I DID make it in were these new shiny products!! Oooo I know you want to buy them!

Now for our third level we're thinking we bring some of the characters from previous levels back, with problems clearly created by the product you sold to them, and the goal is to sell them a new product that would act as a remedy. WE HAVE TWO MORE WEEKS! Exciting and scary! There's so much to do still!

Since we're approaching the end I'd like to just take a moment to mourn the little details I wish we could have added.

  • Light mode. Cute accessibility feature in my opinion.
  • animations showing the dire consequences we put the characters through after using our products
  • stuff around the desk that changes when the player gets richer- wait I think there's still a way to add that nevermind

I'm really impressed by the assets and animations you have come up with. They're definitely better than what our team has come up with. Our assets are a bit basic. But Aseprite has definitely helped us in making our own assets. If you could tell me what software you used to create these, I would more than gladly learn how to use them myself for future projects.

I agree with you that it is stressing and exciting to think that everything has to be done within two weeks left to g.

Good luck in making the final product!

Hi there! I must say, the characters and products you've designed are incredibly appealing! I'm really fond of their color scheme and artistic style. I'm curious, what software did you use for these designs? They look a bit like vector graphics; did you happen to use Illustrator? The progress your team has made so far is quite impressive, and I'm eagerly looking forward to seeing the final product. Keep up the great work!
